It's New Years time and it's the last show of the 2023 year! It's been a hell of a rollercoaster ride this year and Mark Bland/Jason Kull do not leave you wanting for more this time around.
On this last show, Mark and Jason discuss Trump and his constant court battles for his candidacy for president. Many people do not want him in the mix and they have brought it to the Supreme Court of Colorado and Michigan's attention. One decided to bump him from the ballot and the other chicklened out and said nothing. Either way, it seems that Trump has a uphill battle in 2024. First up, Trump is a bad boy and has been for some time. Well the Colorado Supreme Court stepped up and states that Donald can not be on the ballot for the upcoming 2024 election year. Of course this immediately made republicans mad and want to take Biden off ballots in states like florida and Texas (go figure). There of course were some serious heavyweights on that list including Christmas Story and The Grinch (with Jim Carrey). Jenna Roberson, Candidate for Missouri State Congress, joins once again to keep these two politicos, Mark Bland and Jason Kull, in check.
First up, not a week goes by that something stupid doesn't come out the mouth of Donald Trump. This week was no excpetion and along with election deniers having to change their legal tune or end up footing the bill that Trump will never pay...Donald once again pu this foot in his mouth with Sean Hannity. During a live interview on FOX, Trump explained that he would be a dictator for 1 day...closing the borders and drilling for Oil (which we do more now that even during his presidency). Well this obviously is not sitting well with many because he said he would do the thing everyone is claiming is a bad thing...being a dictator. The exact opposite the beliefs and wishes of the forefathers. So the crew discusses this issue.
Next up is Kevin McCarthy deciding he doesn't want to work in congress anymore. So he is retiring and leaving the other mental geniuses footing the bill. This comes after his disasterous attempts to be a shill for Trump and other election deniers...plus it taking 15 straight votes for his seat as the Speaker of the House. His exit can't come quick enough for the next round of the Tournament of Pop Culture: Biggest Jerk in TV/Movie history....who will join the three others in the final of the ultimate Jerk.
Finally NO STUPID QUESTIONS is a new game that Mark brings to the table for everyone. Some questions are ones that people are typically afraid to ask others simply out of regret or anxiety of how they will be viewed. Well Mark found a place where they love to load up the questions and Mark and team will knock down the answers...and tell everyone...if it is indeed a stupid question or not!
We are moving towards Xmas and with that, there is always room to introduce a new fan of the world of horror...so we are doing that today.
James Dean is fresh off directing his newest film called XXX-mas! Starring one of our own and friend of the show Jonathan May! James is no spring chicken and has been working in and on movies for a while now. A huge horror buff, James joins to talk with Mark Bland and Jason Kull about the production, his costs and address things that Mark brings up regarding other movies in the same vein and how he approached that as he made this movie.
But before that, Mark and Jason have to talk some politics and this week was great with Hunter Biden stating that he would like to do any depositions or interviews regarding his "crimes" in a public forum. The public aspect made the republicans blush fast and backpedal because everyone can watch and see the things they want to be able to make up and put out there. Instead they now have a person wanting to go public and out them for the bad people they are...and it seems this is becoming the norm. People want to out bad people, especially republicans and their supporters.
Finally, it is Week three of the TOPC: Biggest TV/Movie Jerks of ALL TIME! We have some heavyweights moving into this weeks bracket, including a recent final four player named George Costanza. What's interesting is that even with a change of topic and focus, the idea of being the lovable jerk is coming through in this competition too. It's what helped get us the Best TV character of All time...and now with some movie charcters in the mix, it's helping us find the people that could move thru. First up, it seems that Mark Bland and Jason Kull keep discussing this run up to Trump in 2024. And to do that effectively, they need State house candidate Jenna Roberson to join them and bring a womans touch to so much Trump mansplaining. And in this case Trump is explaining that he has the bigliest and bestliest rallies and everyone should care about it. Trump keeps stating the lawyers and judges of America are wrong for charging him for doing illegal things and crimes that others go to jail for.
Next up joins John Kiehne. John is running for congress against Ann Wagner in the St. Louis area. To get the seat in the heavily Red State, John has to get the word out about his policies and politics. John joins to explain that he has a background in Music and tell the guys a littel about his past. Then John sits in for the Hot Seat where people get to know a little better about him and what two foods when put together are just amazing deliciousness in your mouth! Finally, John and crew discuss his policies and politics regarding womens rights and abortions plus much, much more.
finally the Second week of the Biggest Jerks in TV/Movie history are being run down and this week has some heavyweights that could end up winning the entire tournament. Markwayne Mullen and Kevin McCarthy finally said the quiet part out loud this week when they went full on mental illness and started trying to physically assault other memebers of congress and even guests to Capitol Hill. First up Markwayne of Oklahoma decided to try and get in the face of a Teamster that was a guest on capitol hill. Evidently the two men had words on SOCIAL MEDIA and the republican just couldn't let Social Media go...so he tried starting a fight in the Senate chamber before being punked by Bernie Sanders and told to act like an adult. In another section of the Capitol, Kevin McCarthy the whiny former Speaker of the house elbaowed and tried to physically attack another republican because he is mad everyone turned on them. Mark and the guys discuss all of this craziness happening!
Then, for his triumphant return, Mark put together a special Tournament of Pop culture that might become a larger fight. Mark chose 16 people to put up against each other for the title of Biggest/Best Jerk in a movie or TV show. An amazing topic that has a ton of opportunities and people that can be thrown into the mix coming up. Next up, Trump is losing is weekly now about the judges, the lawsuits and this week his family is sitting down and discussing his less than special dealings. But the Party of the GOP is in shambles. Ken Buck is pulling out and telling the world they lost their way. The Qnow and Mark and Jason been stating this since Trump won in 2016 and everyone laughed at them for that. Here we are, the speaker is crazy. The memebers are nuts...and even red state stalwarts like Ken Buck are denouncing and running away from the party. If Trump loses in 2024, can they even survive?
Next up, St. Louis Native Cori Bush rode her wave to Capitol hill in 2020. Making a name during the Michael Brown situation, she felt like a fresh breath of air for the STL. But now walking into 2024, Cori recieves news that Wesley Bell, another prominent POC in the STL political scene is coming for her seat. Mark, Jenna and Jason discuss this new challenger and whether Cori can hold on to her seat. Plus what are the people in the area stating when asked about their opinion of Cori and her political moves.
Finally, Mark has a list of one liners and funny things that are compiled for radio and TV people each week. Zingers to let you know they are the funny ones. Mark gets a list compiled for the show and then the three judge whether these are truly good lines or just taking pot shots for the sake of being mean. You decide as you listen along!
We had it wrong all along. It was never gonna be a Civil War. The country is too interconnected and the states are on top of each other. Can't draw a east/west line or any other at this point. So everyone will have to be fair game in the new Trump led war on voters/citizens. Which means it will be the Real American PURGE. That's what they are gearing up for.

Problem is that Mike is known for being a nationalistic and trump supporting person. Putting those things together shows that the republicans are now all extremists and looking for ways to attack and hurt people. They can't accept their consequences for their attitudes and actions anymore and it is funny. This new man will be the ruin of the entire party.
Also, Trump is definitely learning consequences for his actions but it seems he has given up on trying to pretend to campaign anymore and instead has resorted to his old "Don't Vote" message that failed him in the 2020 election. This time around everyone is hip to his dumb moves and Mark calls out that he is setting this up to use as an excuse AGAIN. Everything is an admission of guilt with this man.

Jason Kull and Mark Bland start off discussing about Covid and how people are worried about new lockdowns that just not coming. A Maryland school had a small outbreak of third graders and as usual the idiots took to social media to turn it into the next OUTBREAK scenario and it never comes to fruition. This is all after the men announce they are now SYNDICATED for the second time in history on multiple stations. Sure it's not national synidcation, but the show is moving in the right direction adding 102.5 WIBH to their already powerful 1280/105.3 KYRO!
Next up the gents discuss the Gerogia Election Fraud Case. The first set of hearings has already begun and it seems the republicans are trying to get out in front of what they are denying is a conspiracy. There is only one problem Mark noticed...they referenced the "conspiracy" underoath in the first discussion, so it was actually a conspiracy. Trump has argued for years that it was never some conspiracy and everyone just over reacted and was lying and/or LIBERAL. Weird stance to take. This also comes with some idiocy from the lawyers of Sidney Powell and Mr. Chesebro.

This tournament focuses on the upcoming halloween and fall season as we break down the best Horror Movie Sequels Battle Royale. This is not a list we created, but one that we are breaking down and discussing. Which horror movie franchise made the best sequel to date? Was it Halloween and Michael? Trump has been indicted for a 4th time! This time in Georgia for Election interferrence in the 2020 election. It seems he did a lot of bad things and it's all falling down around him, Mark is confused at why he is still allowed to run for office in the face of these allegations. The gents discuss his latest issues with the courts.
Next up, Mark has noticed a ton of energy drinks allowed for sale at local gas stations and grocery stores. There are so many they almost need their own aisle at this point. Mark and Jason discuss the fact that these drinks are being peddled to their kids and other adults that are sucking them up without realizing the potential conflicts and issues that might come from a heavy diet of those drinks.
Finally, the state of missouri is starting to arrest parents who have their kids out of school too much. But then the guys go on to find out that nationally, 25% of kids who are of school age don't attend enough...and of that 25%, 91% of them don't go at all. This adds up to millions of kids in the Trump era, with all the lies and stupidity aren't even trying to educated themsleves and become better knowledged on ther things they they think or share. This is going to become problematic.
On this episode of the The Qnow, the guys are joined by STL radio personality and DJ, Sam Hood. Sam went by DJ Cub for many years in the St. Louis Scene and is now here to talk with Mark and Jason about life and politics in 2023.
First up, you couldn't escape it. There was a Riverboat Melee that happened in Montgomery, AL between white people and black people. The entire nation is talking about the racial tensions after the events that unfolded. A security guard asked a family of white boaters to move their boat and from there, everything went crazy! People jumping into the fight, people swimming over to help off other boats. It was a wild scene and even CROCS weren't exempt from the issue. But people are misreading this situation. Mark and the gentlemen talk about this issue.
Next up is the Tournament of Pop culture: Best Breakfast Cereal! Yeah you know all the players, and there might even be some you are not thinking about. But who better to break this down than people that love food! But the real question is how deep does this go? do perrenial favorites like Lucky charms and Cheerio's walk away with the win...or do some overlooked cereals really bring in the taste buds? Finally, Trump has now stated that he doesn't even want to live in America, where he is running for president. So at that point, is Trump running just to be an A-hole and push dumb conspiracies and create as much turmoil as he can? First up, it seems that the complaining about the age of these electors falls on deaf ears. Mitch McConnell who has been the focus of these age ideals found himself in a predicament this past week when he froze up at the podium and people were unsure what to think. Mitch ended up being fine but it was really odd and re-ignited this idea that there migh tneed to be term limits and age limits on some of our older nominees wach election cycle.
Next, there are some amazing movies that you could pair together, but the best things happen naturally. Well Mark and Jason Kull are here to break down which weekend in movie history had the best two movie tandem release. Maybe it was a weekend in the 1990's during the summer...or maybe a thanksgiving release weekend in the 2000's... we have a Ranker list of the best and we are gonna figure out who reigns supreme for a double movie release in history...
That Ranker review comes on the heal of the release of Barbie and Oppenheimer. Which is the focal point of our last thing. Is the Barbie movie a bad thing to see cause it's about Barbie? Why are so many conservatives worried about going to a movie they can just ignore and not pay to go see? Well in their world you have to have things to complain about, and if everyone is fine with Barbie, then it's not manly or cool enough for republicans. So of course it becomes point of contention, but like many of their things...does it have legs? Nope!
Drew Pinson is back to hang out with Mark and Jason and this time he brings some spicy music takes with him...
First up, Mark and Jason welcome Drew back to the show and the gentlmen discuss how things been in the world of music on Drews podcast Notes & Letters. Drew then asks the guys what is the best cover song that they ever heard? And what was the worst cover song they have ever heard, conversely. Next up Mark realizes that him and Jason are underutilized in the word of politics and that Fox News could use guest appearances from Mark and Jason and it would boost their ratings on a national look.
Next up the guys discuss some politics and what is going on in the world! Joe Biden and the Biden campaign decided to strike a littel early for campaigning and put out their first video of the 2024 election. It featured MTG just speaking about Joe and Kamala and the things they are doing, then it says they approved the message. Castrating any value in MTG, they used her word sagainst her and it was Amazing! And then Jason Aldean finds himself in a bit of controversy from his song "Try that in a small town" in reference to anything where the rest of the world is having the issues. So in his small towns, everyone knows each other so nobody does anything. In big cities things aren't quaint and easy. Though Jason thinks its because small towns talk tough. The guy figure out, Jason is not from a too small of a town and things are the same everywhere all the time...some people are just more prejudice.
Finally, another Ranker review comes to pass. This time around there are HUGE movie franchizes that exist and they bring tons of joy to the world. On this episode, Mark and the men discuss the Jonah hill situation. Jonah Hill was dating a woman named Sarah Brady seriously back in 2021 when their relationship ended. This past week, Sarah decided to put out some personal texts of her discussions when breaking up with Jonah and claimed he was abusive. Mark and the gents read the text message that set the internet on fire and discuss Jonah and the relationship. Was he an abuser, or was this honest discussion.
Next up, when in Branson on his Trip, Mark and his family were pleasantly surprised by the awesomeness that was Ripley's Believe it or Not! So Mark got in contact with John DIxon from the meuseum and action park and discussed the brand throughout the years and their multiple locations around the USA. This leads to Mark and John discussing their favorite attractions and some of the things you can enjoy when you go down to Branson to visit!
Finally, it is summer and the guys been doing things that vibe with summer of 2023! Well a tournament of pop culture had to happen regarding the heat and fun, and so the newest TOPC: Best Ice Cream Truck treats was born! Marcus, Jason and Mark break down your favorite treats of all time in the ice cream truck and get to a winner. One of our hosts are broken by the results but it was all fixed with some delicious ICE CREAM!!!
Mark and Jay took a vacation from the radio station for a couple weeks and now they are back and a lot has happened in the world!
Mark and Jason discuss their fourth of July's and Mark discusses a situation where he had to deal with someone that was mad they were lighting off fireworks and it bothered their animals. Mark and Jason discuss pecking orders of humans versus animals and whether this was warranted or not.
Next up, while on vacation in Branson, MO...Mark decided to take the family zip lining and he stopped in at Adventure Ziplines of Branson to try out the Largest Canopy Zipline in the area! And it did not disappoint. Mark welcomes Victoria Voisin of Adventure Ziplines to the show to discuss how amazing their staff and adventure course truly is! Mark also tells some stories of being a larger man and dealing with the ways of the world while zipping through the canopy in Branson!
Finally Affiramtive action was struck down by the Supreme Court while the men were away from the show, so they discuss this decision and how it will affect things moving forward in the US and especially with regards to college admission. Also Trump doxxed the Obama's and a man showed up with an arsenal to use to hurt them. These conservatives are getting dumber by the day and will eventually hurt someone.
