Mark Bland and Gary Weed discuss the new war on Vape pens and E-Cigarettes. The Union strike of GM as they try and forge a new contract for the future. And finally, the guys turn their eyes towards the Oil/Gas prices because of a bombing on a Saudi Arabia Oil Facility. Plus much much more!

Sep 5, 2019

Mark Bland and Gary Weed return on this episode of the Q to discuss the shooting at the Galleria Mall in St. Louis, Mo. Also Mark breaks down Missouri and it's people as a state for everyone to understand. Of course there was some Donald Trump talk too because of his amazing ability to double down on the dumbest things. And finally, we take some questions from the listeners about things in their life like: Should a guy considered the A-hole if he plays by the rules and the perception of others is in direct opposition of that?

We discuss all of this and much much more on this episode of the Q!

Aug 16, 2019

Gary Weed and Mark Bland embark on a journey to find out more about the legendary St. Louis Metal/Rock/Rap group called The Midwest Avengers.

John Harrington of the Midwest Avengers joins the show to discuss his upbringing and forming the group back in the early 1990's. Plus discusses his new music they just released and some thoughts on the business of hip hop.

First up, Mark breaks down the past with John discussing their mutual time in the St. Louis music business back in the 1990's. Touring and building the fan base. As well as discussing in detail The Point (local STL indie rock station) and how they were launched to success through their single "Bounce" being played on the station. This leads to a discussion on pay to play in the past and how it worked back in the day.

Next up, Mark and the guys take on Jeffrey Epstein's death by suicide in a suicide watch cell. How did this happen? Is there a conspiracy? And the original autopsy came back inconclusive (since then they found broken neck bones...strangulation).  Jon and Mark start chopping it up about Conspiracies and whether they serve a purpose or not.

Finally Mark and Gary fire up the HOTSEAT and put John square in the middle of it. Among many things talked about, Jon tells Mark what his favorite time of his life was. I bet you can't even fathom to guess what it was. Well tune in and listen to find out this and so much more!

Aug 12, 2019

Mark Bland, Brandon Travis and Producer Bobby have to join us on this amazing episode of the Q.

Fresh off the heels of two mass shootings, Mark and the guys decide to discuss the entire situation in glorious detail. Mark discusses the amount of preparation the shooters went into setting up their deadly massacre's. Two incredibly different shootings with differing purposes, but both claim that politics and our discourse as a nation fueled their rage. Whether it was disenchantment with the system in Dayton, Ohio...or it was fueled by bigotry and xenophobia in El Paso, TX....both area's are reeling from the damage done by the two ignorant and jerk shooters. This leads to the main discussion of if Trump bares any responsibility in these shootings because of his attitude and words he's used to play to his fan base.

This leads into Bobby giving some of his beliefs live on the show and discussing them with Brandon and Mark. First up, Abortion. Bobby gives his stance on abortion and everyone gets into talking about how long you as a parent should have to til you are stuck with raising the baby. Next up was GUNS. Producer Bobby believes that guns are important to protecting yourself in the USA. This leads to discussion about confiscating guns. In russia, they only shoot rubber bullets.

Finally, it seems the boy scouts are not such good guys after all. New documents presented in court this past week show that the boy scouts, similar to the catholic churches they hold meetings at, have been holding back the names of hundreds of leaders over the years that were caught molesting children. This is a travesty of mass proportions and also opened up some memories from my past with boy scouts and my stories about thinking leaders were creepy.

It's an exciting week on this episode of the Q!

Brandon Travis returns to the Q on a episode that has a lot of everything for everyone!

First up, Mark is not happy with President of the USA saying some rather passive aggressive racial things towards some congresswomen. Trump turns his racial anger against Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and lets them know that they need to go back to their "own country" and leave the USA. Weirdly, AOC is a New York/Jersey Girl like him and would only be returning to the Brooklyn, NY. But that's why Mark is all heated. He knows that Trump knows that...Trump is trying to be racist in the most effective way he can in such a high profile position. It's completely about skin color and being an a--hole. Mark and Brandon discuss this and how it is racist.

Race stays on the table as Mark then switches to actor Chris Pratt wearing the Gadsden Flag shirt and he explains how there is a racial connection to it from the Tea Party and their decisions to make the flag their own in 2009. After this, Mark switches the discussion to Netflix's new prices and the reason for the prices. If a company ever wanted to throw their clients under a bus, Reed Hastings did just that and explained the reason for the new pricing structure. Find out why Netflix is raising their prices and why these two men are livid.

Finally, Mark and Brandon take on some more questions from the listeners and discuss once again if a person is the jerk in a situation or not!

Enjoy all this and more on the new Q!

Jul 11, 2019

On this episode of the Q, Travis Corley of Agitate the Airwaves joins to discuss all the happenings with his company and life in the St. Louis area. Plus they decide to avoid discussing politics for the show.

First up, Mark and Travis start to discuss people that are always happy. How do you respond to someone constantly happy? There is no way that a human can be happy 100% of the time, yet we run into these people in life and their happiness rubs off on others.

Next up is a hodge podge. Mark and Travis discuss Mark's recent trip to Six Flags St. Louis and how disappointed he was with the park and the staffing and all of it. Banking off their discussion of Warped Tour, Mark provides detail of what it's like to charge hundreds of dollars to get into the park and then offer up less and worse service considering that enormous price.  This leads to a discussion about music and movies that spans multiple genres and styles. It's a really fun talk about everything and too much to post in the info.

Finally Mark and Travis try to figure out two problems:

1. Why Travis is being attacked for not nominating certain people for the Agitate the Airwaves Awards?

2. Is this boyfriend an Jerk for going to dinner and not paying a bill? You gotta hear the story to understand.

All this and much more on this episode of the Q!

Gary Weed is back and he is happy that the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup.  Which is great for him and a thorn in the side of Flyers fan host Mark Bland.

First up Mark and Gary discuss the St. Louis Blues winning the Stanley Cup and how the City of St. Louis is celebrating. That Celebrating lead to Mark's favorite old school Hockey player, Brett Hull, coming back to party with his first love and team. Brett was, let's say a little altered in his happiness...but that's okay when celebrating.

Then Gary brings up some stories he wants to talk about including one about parents fighting at another little league baseball game. Mark gets unhappy when hearing these stories and the two discuss what should and can be done to fix this issue that pops up too much now days.

Finally Mark put out the search for some people that have stories where they could be the bad guy in the situation. Mark and Gary discuss the various people and if they are indeed the problem child or not. Take a listen and find out what the people did and break it down with your two hosts.

May 16, 2019

Well the conservatives are on the abortion train again and the Q is paying attention. It seems that a few states decided to go through (outta the blue) with more stringent abortion bans in their state legislatures. More men telling women how and what they should do with their PRIVATE PARTS. Well this shouldn't sit well with many and Brandon Travis makes his long awaited return to the show to discuss this and many other things.

Brandon has been away for a while, serving time for his transgressions in life. Mark and Brandon start off talking about Trump and his need to start Wars with Iran for no reason. But that point Brandon asks the most important question...why is Trump doing this? Mark has an answer for him, see if you agree.

Brandon and Mark then get into talking about Brandon's time away and how he handled the pressure. He was sent to the hole for a few weeks and Mark wants to know how that affects the mind of a man stuck in that situation. This leads to Brandon discussing the reasons for why he got into the trouble and along with it comes the stories of fighting to survive in a hell hole. Brandon talks about the fights he was in and why he followed through.

Finally Mark and Brandon discuss some letters from the listeners. One person specifically brings up the idea of COSPLAY and how we view it as dressing up like Halloween. But we should be allowed to be any race and dress as another to pay homage. So should costumes that are inherently non judgmental or non-racist (nefarious purpose)be allowed? The men discuss.

Enjoy this episode of the Q...Hopefully it opens your mind and makes you think.

May 2, 2019

Gary Weed and Mark Bland sit down to discuss the William Barr testimony in front of Congress. Attorney General Barr was the man to release the summary report of the Mueller investigation, but Robert Mueller himself stated that Barr was not honest in his assessment. Well Congress got their blood all boiling and ready to take it to Barr, and they kinda did.

Barr was asked by Kamala Harris about his investigation into the summary report. When he explained that he didn't actually read the summary report and released his findings without reading it, that was a clue to the people of the US that Barr is in the pocket of Trump. Unlike Sessions, it seems Barr is willing to go down with the ship. Will this work out for him or not? The guys discuss.

This all works its way around to discussing the names of people, especially US Presidents. Have you ever noticed that Presidents names always sound very authentic and usually have three or four names in total....William Jefferson Clinton or George Herbert Walker Bush.  Very stoic names that are associated with that office. Mark and Gary discuss the names and other names that stick out in life.

Finally, Mark and Gary take some letters from listeners and and boy do they have some doozies. Should we reprimand pregnant women that smoke cannabis publicly? Should movie Villains win more often? And why does Gary not watch Game of Thrones? All this and much more on this episode of the Q.

On the heels of their big 4:20 show, Jonathan May and Mark Bland welcome Comedian and co-conspirator Jon Maddy to the show. Jon a welcomed guest from the past gets a real taste of what being around Mark and Jonathan May is like. And by the looks on his face, it was interesting to say the least.

First up the guys discuss Robert Kraft and his need to get hot prostitutes to so sexual things for him. Mark ask's if guys like Kraft are too Famous and well known, to the point that their fame overshadows their misdeeds. This leads to the craziest thing Mark has ever heard come out of Jonathan's mouth, "Olympus has Fallen is a great film". Mark argues that nothing about it is good and Maddy plays referee to the situation. Mark even feels so horribly about the movie that he confuses it with another movie claiming the sequel had different people...he was wrong it did not.

Then the show everyone is talking about is Game of Thrones. Mark and May decide to discuss the first episode of the new season with the blessing of Maddy. SPOILERS FOR THE SHOW are in this episode so I would recommend skipping 5-7 minutes of you don't want it ruined for you.

Finally, Mark brings up a discussion with Jonathan and Jon about a conversation discussing why other cultures than Black culture are not allowed to say the N-word. Mark argues that it's kept alive by Black culture using it so frequently in slang and if they stopped the word would probably be viewed much more negatively as whole. Jonathan argues the right to say it because history dictates the culture taking the word back and not allowing others to use it. the convo gets deep and intense...take a listen and see where they finally come to a conclusion.

Apr 15, 2019

Mark Bland and Gary Weed are both fans of Pro-wrestling. Mark has been a prowrestler in his life and had a career that took him all over the country. Gary is a lifelong fan and someone that understands the business in a solid way. With this being the basis....The Q presents....WRESTLETALK 35!

Wrestlemania 35 happened and Mark/Gary have a ton to discuss about it.

First up...Mark tells Gary he can ask him any question about the business and Mark will be very fair and openly answer the question. So Gary pulls the trigger and Mark attacks the answer like a someone giving a Stone cold Stunner in the middle of the ring!

Next Mark discusses his career and how he comes to becoming a prowrestler. How the job formed in his mind before he becomes a prowrestler. He specifically talks about 1996-1997 in his life and what he decided to try and get into professional wrestling. Mark discusses how the business was different back then and more picky and finicky about who they would let be a professional wrestler. Now days anyone can apply and get work wrestling in front of crowds.

Then Mark and Gary into discussing Wrestlemania 35 and how the show took forever to happen.  After almost 7 straight hours of wrestling, Beck Lynch's hands were raised and barely anyone cheered because they were so tired and spent from the 7 hours of show. Plus how did Ronda's match play out? Who's matches went which way? And what was the best moments?

All this and much more on this episode of the Q!

Mar 29, 2019

Gary Weed and Mark Bland are lonely this week but Trump made sure to give them something to talk about. Well not Trump himself, but Robert Mueller delivered the long awaited Trump Russian Investigation to William Barr the AG of the US. Barr then put out a 4 page summary explaining what the gist of the findings were. Trump did not collude with Russian regarding the 2016 election. So he is clear. Which is fine. But Mueller also stated that he's not exonerated from anything either. He was basically a wash.

Now this leads to a discussion about "not being exonerated" and how people should handle the news. Mark also explains about his reaction upon first hearing about it and what he wrote on social media. We have rules we agree to as citizens to aide by. It went through the proper channels and was investigated. If he comes out clean, then he comes out clean. Simple. But this does not exclude Trump from being sued through the states.

Next we discuss Brexit, how it is working and what we should be focusing on regarding England. Theresa May decides that she will not be Prime Minister anymore if they pass her plan. So the world waits as England took a Trump-esque extreme stance with their voting and didn't have a strategy in place. Now they are in a shit or get off the pot situation and it looks like things will only get worse. Mark discusses making extreme decisions.

Gary explains he's thought about running for office which takes Mark of his tracks and gets him to breaking Gary down for the inevitable vetting. Mark gives some solid advice to Gary for his political aspirations.

Finally the guys discuss some TV shows and movies that they are currently into and Gary says his wife beat him to the punch on a movie...but what movie? Take a listen and find out!

All this and more on the Q!

Mar 22, 2019

There are so many ways to say so many things. Jonathan May joins Mark on this amazing journey we call the Q.

First up Mark decides that he needs to explain what being a liberal raised in the Midwest is truly like. Most people think being liberal is a national stance and all Liberals tend to fall from the same tree. But this is not true. Liberals in the Midwest are way more centrist than east/west coast liberals because the Midwest is so conservative, the liberals are raised with a conservative understanding and edge given to them from their parents. Mark and Jonathan discuss.

This leads to question about Police and Jonathan's person views as an ex military police officer. Jonathan has seen both sides of the coin and the question is "Where is your current stance on police." The guys discuss.

Then we get into the goods. Jonathan and Mark both have been asking questions of black and white culture on and offline. The response has been good and Mark has some questions for Jonathan and vice versa. Mark asks a question about the style of hair that people in black culture have. This leads to a convo about words you can and can't say to people in general. Also the pronunciation of words can alter the vibe of the word. The guys discuss these words too.

Finally a letter from a listener that thinks Prisoners are not being used to their potential like they should be. Mark and Jonathan discuss if the listeners stance is the proper stance or not to have.

All this and much much more on this episode of the Q.

Who is the Grand Trivia Master of the Q?  Well we set to find that out on this episode of the Q. Gary Weed, Producer Bobby and Jonathan May join to discuss a couple of topics before we get down to the brass tacks.

First up...R. Kelly and Michael Jackson have been hit heavily lately in the media.  Kelly is fighting for his freedom after being accused of once again talking to and sexually abusing underage females. This is the same thing he was accused of a few years ago with the "pee on her" video tape that surfaced. The new accusations basically make Kelly out to be a forceful and manipulative guy to a host of women. On the heels of that, Michael is back in the news because the kids that didn't come forward originally in the 90's have decided to come forward now on a new documentary that has radio stations pulling Jackson's music.

This leads to an interesting discussion of NDA (non disclosure agreement) and hush money...and whether the death of one party in the agreement should or should not change the scope of the agreement. Should all rules be forgiven once one party dies in the relationship? Can the person come out after the fact, but also after spending the money they took to be quiet originally?

Finally, after a challenge from Mark to Gary regarding Trivia...Jonathan decided to jump in and we have or first Grand Trivia Master contest. Producer Bobby put together 25 questions and tie breakers (if needed) to decide this first ever champ. All the questions are general in nature. Multiple categories and varied levels of difficulty...Can you keep up with the Q crew? Are you truly a Grand Trivia Master...follow along and find out on this episode of the Q.

Feb 28, 2019

Oh what a week for the world! Michael Cohen, the former Trump lawyer, hit the stand in front of Congress again to answer questions. The last time he did this, he was caught lying and ended up getting 3 years in jail. So with that hanging above his head, he hit the congressional testimony stand again and boy did he let it fly.

So this week on the Q, after a little break, Jason Kull and Gary Weed jump in to discuss everything with Cohen and what he claimed on the stand. According to Cohen, Trump does very little LEGAL things. Cohen claims he was a virtual enforcer for the President of the USA. He was tapped to send threats to businesses and colleges. He has paid off multiple people for sex and other nefarious activities...BUT...according to Cohen, Trump doesn't have ties to russian collusion as the Mueller report is investigating.  Which is a feather in the cap of Donald Trump.  But that doesn't change the fact that his former lawyer, under oath and serving prison time, decided to throw him completely under the bus. There is no way Trump pardons Cohen at this point. So you know it was all true.

Mark Asks the guys to put together their list of the Top 3 movies that are RE-WATCHABLE. Movies in the same vein as Back to the Future or Shawshank Redemption. Jason and Gary do not disappoint Mark and sit back to hear about some movies that are worth watching over and over again...for a reason.

Finally, Mark sits down with St. Louis commentator and author, John Parker. John talks with Mark a little about Cohen and Trump...but that takes a turn down the road of our great nation and the current cultural and national divide. Why are we divided as people? Also, on the back of his book "Cold Day in August", Parker discusses with Mark the Ferguson situation and it's impact in hindsight. What progress was made? And....Our country is a melting pot and there is a distinct group of people that tend to keep that fire stoked. The two men discuss John's upcoming book and how we should view the country in it's current political and socio-economic stance. Should those fires stay stoked or do we need a reset and a better understanding of each other.

All this and much more on the Q!

Feb 16, 2019

Producer Bobby and Gary Weed join on this episode of the Q. And it's huge because it is the first show since the Super Bowl when Mark and Gary have been face to face. Lot of Trash talking between the two on many previous episodes...but that all was settled with Tom Brady and the Patriots winning the Super bowl....

Which brings us to the first discussion. A new Football league debuted called the AAF. This is the second of what will eventually be 3 different major football leagues including the upcoming XFL. Mark and the guy all took a look at the new league and liked what they saw....but can a third league come into the fray and be able to maintain it's success. That's three full football franchises and we know the NFL is not going to lose out in the end. So Mark asks "Can the country sustain 3 leagues at once."  Find out what everyone says.

Next up Mark discusses the professionalism of organizations in the US that he does business with on a consistent basis. How they should and shouldn't treat people. How companies mess up their brand in the eyes of others and get bad word of mouth.

Finally the guys discuss some of the stigma of growing up in North County St. Louis. This leads to Mark explaining about the past 20 years of North St. Louis County, specifically Florissant, and where it stands today. Mark grew up there and explains why people have left the area and how it's viewed by people outside of Florissant today.

All this and much more on the newest episode of the Q!

Feb 7, 2019

So the 2019 State of the Union address came and went. When it was all over, the only thing people remembered was the F-U Clap that Nancy Pelosi directed towards Donald Trump.

With that, Jonathan May and Jason Kull join Mark Bland on this episode of the Q to discuss the State of the Union Address. What everyone took from it, but more importantly, what they thought the current State of the Union looks like from their eyes.

This turns into discussion about people in the USA being their own worst enemies. Making choices and decisions to shoot themselves in the foot constantly. Mark then explains he will shoot himself in the foot and the reaction from Jonathan is not to be missed.

Then the show takes a weird turn. Jason claims that his hometown of Keokuk, Iowa has more to do in it than St. Louis has in it. Of course, Jon and Mark disagree heavily. So it begins...the great city showdown of 2019. This leads to Mark posing the question of how Missouri would react if tomorrow the USA became 50 individual countries. How would Missouri fair in that situation.

From there things take a turn for the musical as the guys start talking about music artists in the Superbowl and eventually the talk turns to diva's. Who are the great diva's, what makes them diva's....and is there a something that they have to do consistently keeps them in the DIVA spotlight? Also on the discussion because of the Superbowl is Colin Kaepernick. Jonathan and Mark spark up debate on why Colin still is not playing in the NFL.

Finally the talk becomes about people and some of their weird and awkward opinions on Life. So Mark grabs a few opinions and wants to gage the mental standing of Jason and Jonathan. Do you agree with their statements or are they ridiculous....you tell us in the comments below.

All this and much more in this episode of The Q!

Feb 1, 2019

The government shutdown is over and Life is returning to normal...Right? Well maybe not so fast. After shutting down the government and PROUDLY ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY, Trump got NOTHING for all the heartache he put thousands and thousands of voters thru. 800,000 went without pay for weeks and weeks. Some started to get trouble from the landlords and others they owe money to.  Also, when he opened it back up, it was only for three weeks.

Jonathan May and Producer Bobby join on the show to discuss this disaster created by Trump and blamed on everyone but Trump (even though he accepted responsibility). Also discussion of Howard Schultz running for president and Roger Stone got arrested in regards to Russian Collusion and connections to Trump. So it's been a hell of a 7 days for Donald Trump.

But the fun don't stop there...Mark decides that he feels the Star Wars Universe needs to go away. Not a popular idea for many, but Mark explains why the Star Wars universe has gone on too long...which leads to a discussion about the Marvel Universe and whether a similar fate should eventually befall it too!

Finally Bobby bought a book about Would you Rather questions and Jonathan squares off with Mark in a battle of Would you Rather.  All this and much more to entertain your ears on this episode of the Q.

Jan 24, 2019

Ever been somewhere and people around you start doing something out of the norm to the point of it being uncomfortable? That's a lack of couth and decorum.  Well this week the world decided to go down that path and Jason Patton and Gary Weed join Mark Bland to discuss all of it.

If you haven't been under a rock, you know the story about the kids in MAGA hats getting in the face of a Native American man at a pro-life rally in Washington DC. The story has caught massive attention because of a few things.

1. How the media reported the original incident

2. How the children from Covington High school treated the elder Native man

3. The use of the Trump hat as a sign of the times

4. The discussion of parents and where were the adult supervisors in the situation

Mark and the guys discuss these 4 things as they traverse the world of decorum and where we are as a society in 2019.

ALSO...the LA Rams made it to the Super Bowl against the Patriots and Gary is a huge Rams fan. This led to some online back and forth between Mark and Gary (being on opposite sides of the game) and a GRIEVANCE once again presented itself. Both Mark and Gary have their complaint and they bring it to the table to discuss live on the air. Who was in the right or wrong? Or were neither?  You find out!

Finally, Covington High School, just couldn't get out of their own way. Once the media storm hit, they got caught with video from a basketball game.  This is important because of the MAGA hat and their involvement with something people considered a little off color....well it becomes really off color when the same school from the mass hysteria also seems to have a somewhat racist belief its okay to do blackface, even accentuating the eyes and lips with white makeup like Al jolson did. This wasn't kids making a mistake...this was kids being okay'd by their parents to get away with something the parents knew better about. The guys break all this down and much more on this episode of the Q!

Dec 27, 2018

Sometimes, it takes time for things to pass before you can come back around and reconnect.  Sometimes it's as if no time has passed at all. Well we get the best of both worlds on this weeks episode of the Q.

Bj "The No Limit Honkey" Lange joins Mark, Gary and Jason as he travels back to the STL where he called home for many years. Mark and BJ were co-hosts on a weekly music video show called "Mega Music" back in 2001.  Since those days, they have kept in contact and decided to re-connect for an episode.  Which is great since it's the final episode of 2018!

First up, BJ discusses where he has been the past 15 solid years. From moving to LA, to acting, to improv and even into his cancer diagnosis which he has fought TWICE now and succeeded.

But don't think we stepped away from our core for another episode. No way.  Donald Trump kept up his ridiculousness all the way through the holidays and up to the last days of the 2018. From asking a 7 yr old girl if Santa is real, all the way to throwing a temper tantrum and refusing to leave the white house for Christmas break when everyone else did. Finally he did something nice that no one on the Q can fault him for....he visited the troops in Iraq for Christmas...but only because he was shamed into it again. 1 Step forward, 2 steps back is his M.O.

From there, the show hits a lot of notes from the year 2018. A list of things you might have forgot happened in 2018 (weak list).  As well as discussion on Oscar worthy performances and if Heath Ledger would have won for the Dark Knight had he not passed away.

This leads to the Final HOTSEAT of the Year with BJ and a discussion on what song gets you all emotional. Which one is the one that catches you off guard every time and you start to get the feels deep in your gut.

And Finally the guys discuss BJ's cancer diagnosis and how he fought it and some of the stories and people he works with to this day trying to help and better during their fight against prostate cancer. All this and much more on this episode of The Q!

Dec 20, 2018

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We are at the final shows of 2018 and upon the first of 2019. This week Mark is joined by Andy Echele and Pro-Wrestling friend Jason Patton to discuss all that is merry and bright.

But....(record scratch)...That's not what happens!

Mark Bland met Jason Patton in the late 1990's and they have maintained a relationship ever since.  Jason started training at the legendary South Broadway athletic club in 1999 and that's when him and Mark struck up the friendship....BUT HOLD THE PHONE....Jason explains this on the back of a 6 year stint in PRISON! WHAT???

Mark gets it revealed to him for the first time live on this show that his friend Jason not only robbed a bank and went to prison for 6 years, but he was put into the Federal Penitentiary at Leavenworth...the oldest in the country. And one of the most notorious in the country to this day. When you think of Shawshank, you are thinking of Leavenworth.

Jason proceeds to explain his gang background and what it is like sitting and waiting in a Federal Pen. What to watch out for and who to watch out for. If you were wanting a background in the prison system of the US, this episode of the Q opens up a world little seen by many.

The guys discuss the difference between state and federal level prisons and Jason talks about the most evil human being he's ever encountered in his entire life. A riveting discussion that surely will open your eyes. Jason opens up about his past and all of it in the hopes that someone listening will change their ways and not want to be in the same spot he was in.

All this on the new episode of The Q!

Dec 13, 2018

Comedian Brian McDowell comes on the Q to discuss a "verbal tussle" him and host Mark Bland had regarding the position of success and how it should be viewed from his point of view. Brian disagree's with Mark, so Mark invited him on to discuss which comics are truly FAMOUS and which ones are D and C list celebs at best.

Along for this wonderful ride is Jason Kull and Gary Weed who also join in on this foray. Mark and Gary have been going back and forth about Harold Baines making it into the Baseball Hall of Fame and it lines up perfectly because this show is about VALUE and MERIT. Either you have both and are viewed at the proper level...OR you have one or the other and are viewed on a lesser scale. But it seems people within their own professions view success of others at a heightened level and sometimes you gotta step outside of your business to see it the way others do. But is Mark right or is Brian right. Most comics are gonna agree with Brian because of his position as a stand up comic....but it's never those within your industry that give you the value you require. It's the CROWD and FANS. They are what give you merit.

Also on the show the guys discuss Michael Cohen, the lawyer for Donald Trump that admitted guilt and is now going to prison for 3 years. You would think that would be the eye opening everyone needed to figure out Trump is dirty, but NOPE! Some people are still holding tight and coming up with every excuse they can so they don't get egg on their face.  Conservatives are dollar sure and too deep now to allow anything to make their choice look bad. But there is more coming down the pipe line and everyone chimes in about what makes Cohen that big of a deal.

Finally Mark, Gary, Jason do the hotseat with Brian. What will he be asked...Also what does he quietly judge people on? It could be anything and it could gain you a fan in Brian or get you thrown away quickly. Find out on this new Q!

Mark Bland and Gary Weed return with a hot episode of the Q, cooked up just the way you like it.  This week's episode welcomes friend of the show Ali Jones of the legendary hip hop group the St. Lunatics.  Ali has been to the top of the music business with is crew since 1999. Winning multiple Grammy Awards and music awards for their contributions, Ali along with his childhood friends have racked up quite the reputation. Whether it's Country Grammar, Free City, Heavy Starch or the multitude of other albums and features, Ali has set himself along with Nelly, Murphy Lee, Kyjuan, City Spud and Slo Down as the dominate midwest hip hop group of the early 2000's thru today.

First up, Mark being in the music business, he has worked with the group on different projects in the past. From these interactions and personal dealings, Mark realized early that Ali is a force to reckoned with verbally when discussing touchy and somewhat controversial topics...not unlike himself. Ali explains the beginnings of the St. Lunatics as they celebrate their 25th year as a group.  Mark wonders if there is any plans for a full line up reunion and Ali expounds on why that is always a potential but not at this moment.

Next there are many stories of the hip hop group Mark has heard through the grapevine for years. He decides to serve the stories up and put the questions to rest. Did this happen? Did that happen?  Some very juicy and interesting background on the group and how they gained notoriety is spawned from these questions. Maybe you knew, but maybe you didn't. Find out the real scoop on the groups ascent to fame and popularity.

The guys on the Q have discussed gangs and 1%'ers in the past.  But also 5%'ers were brought up on the show before and there is a lot of lore and background to that belief in  the world. Ali being a 5%'er shines light on whats true and not about his beliefs. He also explains what being a 5%'er means and how others can attain the same beliefs in their life.  But Ali goes a step further and discusses the ways to apply that lifestyle and belief structure to your everyday life.

Finally,  Ali wanted to discuss something he's heard Mark talk about before regarding slavery in the USA. Ali goes on to discuss how slavery should be viewed and begins to discuss the reparations he believes are important setting things back in the right order. Do you agree or disagree? Find out about this and a bunch more on this riveting interview on The Q!
